􀁸 The World Cup Cross Country race will take place in the Birkebeineren Cross-Country Ski
Stadium. This was the Olympic venue for cross-country and biathlon events in Lillehammer
Olympic Winter Games in February 1994 and during the Youth Olympic Winter Games in
February 2016.
􀁸 The courses and stadium was upgraded and ready for the FIS World Cup Cross Country and
Nordic Combined in 2013, ’14 and ’15. Birkebeineren Ski Stadium in Lillehammer will be the venue for both World Cup CC and NC in December 2016. The CC Stadium is a venue that
keeps the high international standard for both athletes, public and media.
􀁸 The venue is also being used, in addition to the FIS World Cup events, for the
Birkebeinerrennet CC event, Inga-Låmi CC Ladies’ event as well as many other national and
international events each winter.

Competition Program


Lillehammer offers for skiers a possibility to compete with Olympic format in sprint C and skiathlon. That may be a one of the last chanches to get in roosters.

Ruka Nordic 2017 - Season start in Ruka Finland

On this year there will be three Cross Country days: Sprints will take place on
Friday and longer distance races for women and men will be held on Saturday and Sunday.

􀁸 In Ruka area there are nearly 173 kilometres of skiing tracks. Ruka Ski resort is
one of the biggest ski centers in Finland; it includes 34 slopes and 21 skiing lifts.
􀁸 Besides Ruka Ski Resorts, the most famous tourist attraction is Oulanka National
Park with 80 kilometres long hiking route Karhunkierros (Bear`s Trail). During the
route there are number of rapids, the most famous ones being Kiutaköngäs and
Jyrävä. Karhunkierros and shorter trip trails are available also for snow shoeing
and skiing in the winter.
􀁸 Kuusamo has about 16 000 habitants, but thanks to Ruka Ski Resort and popular
nature sights, the services of the area match a lot larger town. There are nearly
50 restaurants varying from large hotel bars to cozy countryside restaurants,
many of them offering local delicacies.
􀁸 Spa Kuusamon Tropiikki and Angry Birds Activity Park guarantee a successful
vacation for families with children! When talking about wellbeing, sauna is of
course a big thing in Finland, combined with massage and other pampering
treatments.
