Athletes has been made their finishing in different ways. Some of skiers have been in high altitude and some of them have stayed in normal altitude. Before Lahti the last WC weekend will be in Otepää, which might be also last change to show ones capacity for team leaders to get place.
It will be also interesting to see how well athletes will perform.
Kauden kolmas periodi alkaa Otepäässä Virossa. Tehvandin stadion sijaitsee n. 225 km Tallinnasta kaakkoon lähellä 43 km:n päässä on Viron toiseksi suurin kaupunki Tarto.
Urheilijat ovat olleet viimeistelemässä kuntoaan ja rauhoittumassa tulevaan MM-kisaan. Osa urheiljoista koittaa saada vielä korkeanpaikan oleskelusta hyötyä, kun taas osa pysyttelee merenpinnan tasolla. Lahden kilpailuja edeltää vielä Otepään sprintit ja distanssimatkat, jossa urheilijoilla on mahdollisuus osoittaa kuntonsa. Kaikilla kisajoukkueeseen nimetyillä ei ole mahdollisuutta osallistua mielimatkoilleen vaan valinta on aina eräänlainen kompromissi joukkueen ja yksilön edun suhteen. On mielenkiintoista nähdä, missä kunnossa Otepäässä kilpailevat hiihtäjät ovat ja onko joku löytänyt vielä uuden vaihteen.
