FIS Holmenkollen (NOR) 9.-10.3.2019

Holmenkollen National Ski arena is one of Norway's most visited tourist attractions. Since 1892 the arena has hosted competitions in Nordic skiing. In 2011 the FIS World Championships Nordic took place in the venue, and in February 2016 Holmenkollen was the host for the IBU World Championships Biathlon.

The courses and the cross country stadium in Holmenkollen are in use during the whole year for training and competitions for the top athletes as well as the sport club youngsters that love cross country skiing and biathlon.

The entire ski jump and arena was rebuilt before the FIS World Championships Nordic in 2011. The ski jump was designed by the Danish firm JDS Architects. Their design brings together all the amenities contained in the jump: rather than having a series of dispersed pavilions, everything from the judge's booths and the Royal family to the souvenir shop and the entrance to the museum are contained in one holistic diagram.

The jump is made out of 1000 tons of steel and raises about 60 meters in the air. The top is cut horizontally to accommodate a viewing platform with a panoramic view of Oslo and surrounding areas.

Maastohiihdon ja suunnistuksen maailmancupin palkintorahojen vertailua / Comparing Prize's in cross-country ski and orienteering Worl Cups

Tänään 9.10.2017  uutisoitiin maastohiidon maailmancupin tulevan kauden 2017-18 suunnitelluista muutoksista.

Maastohiihdon maailmancupin palkintorahat kaudella 2016-17

Maailmancupin yksittäisissä kilpailuissa (33) on  viime kaudella 2016-17 jaettu yksittäisien kilpailutapahtumien osalta 10 parhaalle urheilijalle alla olevan taulukon mukaisesti.

1 CHF = 0,868583 EUR

Maastohiihdon maailmancupin yksittäiset tapahtumat / Individual events
Palkintoja jaettiin yhteensä 40'000 Sveitsin frangia / tapahtuma sijoille 1-10.
CHF 40'000 per event, divided between positions 1–10:

1. CHF 15'000.—          6. CHF 1'500.—
2. CHF 10'000.—          7. CHF 1'000.—
3. CHF 5'000.—            8. CHF 750.—
4. CHF 3'500.—            9. CHF 500.—
5. CHF 2'500.—           10. CHF 250.—

Maastohiihdon maailmancupin viestit ja joukkuesprintit / Relay and Team Sprint events
Palkintoja jaettiin yhteensä 30'000 Sveitsin frangia / tapahtuma.
Viesteissä palkintorahoja on jaettu kuudelle parhaalle joukkueelle.
CHF 30'000 per event, divided between teams 1 – 6:

1. CHF 12'000.—          4. CHF 3'000.—
2. CHF 8'000.—            5. CHF 2'000.—
3. CHF 4'000.—            6. CHF 1'000.—

Maailmancupin kokonaiscupin voittajien palkintorahat 2016-17
Kokonaiscupin palkintorahoja jaettiin yhteensä 165'000 Svetsin frangia.
Palkintorahoja maksettiin sijoille 1-6. Ensimmäisille kolmelle 78%.
Lisäksi U23-sarjan voittajille maksettiin 9'999 CHF.

Suunnistuksen maailmancupin palkintorahat kaudella 2017
