FIS Ulricehamn (SWE) 26.-27.1.2019

Weekend in Otepää didn't get many spectators,but in Ulricehamn last time in 2017 there were 60,000 spectators visiting the arena over two days and cheered on the athletes. Ulricehamn is hosting the World Cup for the second time.

· Venue is Lassalyckan located in the small town of Ulricehamn.
· At Lassalyckan, there are ski trails to suit all types of skiers - from the elite to families with
children.
· Venue Lassalyckan is a local sport centre with 20 different sports both winter and summer.
· A modern system for snowmaking and lightning.
· Swedish National team local riders Hanna Falk and Viktor Thorn (develop team) represent
the local ski club Ulricehamn IF.
· The venue is approved as a Vasaloppet center, the first located in southern Sweden.

How strong are swedish in their own arena?
Swedish ladies have had excellent performance during the World Cup. 
Will they win in Relay on Sunday? Can Krista hop on the Podium again?

FIS Dresden (Ger) 12.-13.1.2019

After Tour de Ski it's time for sprint again. This time Dresden is hosting the World Cup for the second time, the venue is located right on the banks of the River Elbe with the world-famous baroque skyline of Dresden serving as the backdrop of the track.

The team hotel, media facilities and venue are all located within 5min walking.

In summer, the venue hosts big concerts with up to 12.000 spectators and open air movies
The week after the World Cup, the stadium will host events for schools, a biathlon event, youth
athletes as well as Para Nordic athletes.

Dresden is a vibrant city of half a million inhabitants located on the river Elbe in the eastern part
of Germany. Along the banks of the river, Dresden offers one of Europe’s most beautiful

FIS-SKI Davos (SUI) 15.-16.12.2018

The World Cup will move to Davos. The town is located in the eastern part of the country and has been known as a resort town since the early 1800s. There are about 11,000 inhabitants.

It is noteworthy that the town is located about 1550 m above sea level.

Holmenkollen skifestival offers a change for endurance skiers to show their capasity at end of season.

Is Iivo Niskanen still as strong as in PyeongChang or will Poltaranin or Russian youngster Bolshunov and Norwegian skiers try to beat him?

What about ladies? Is Krista Pärmäkoski still getting stronger or does Marit Björgen take the gold medal? 

It will be exciting weekend and in Program there are also Ski Jumping and Compined, but in cross country only mass start long distance competitions with Classic style 30 km W and 50 km M.

Fis-Ski Drammen, NOR – 7th March, 2018

Drammen offers Worldcup sprint on Wednesday 7th March right after Salpausselkä Weekend in Lahti. 

The new starskier Johannes Hoesflot Klaebo made his debyte in WC just in Drammen 2015-16 (F Qual 27. and final 15).

Sprint will be skied in conventional style in city athmosphere.

FIS-SKI Seefeld (AUT) 27.-28.1.2018

In Seefeld it has been falling down nearly 1 meter new snow during last days. Many times organizers have problems with lack of snow, but this time enough is enough.

Seefeld is  host of the next FIS Nordic World Championships in 2019. For that reason a lot of
new infrastructure as well as reconstructions has happened the last 2 years. Seefeld now offers
fantastic Cross-Country tracks which lead 280 km through the Olympia region.

From this winter on it is possible to already train on the original World Championships tracks in the so called “Möserer valley”! Furthermore the Nordic Competence centre offers an additional base building with more and new wax cabins which can be also used during training camps.

Two weekends left before the Olympics 2018. 
Planica is hosting Cross-Country World Cup event for the second time in two years.

Nordic Center, which opened in December 2015 is fully operational and is hosting professional and recreational athletes all year round.

Several Cross-Country, Nordic Combined and Ski Jumping competitions were held in Planica during this time During the World Cup Planica will also host World Snow Day.

Planica is a candidate for the FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2023.

FIS-SKI Toblach - Dobbiaco 16.-17.12.2017

Nordic Arena

Before Tour de Ski there will be a weekend in Toblach Italy. 

Due to the breath-taking view of the Three Peaks, Toblach/Dobbiaco (1,256 m) is also called the Door to the Dolomites. The village is located very close to the renowned peaks of the Dolomites. The village in Alta Pusteria does not only offer a healthy climate and many sports options in summer and winter.

Famous Nordic Arena is  offering many activities both in winter and summer time.

The new roller skating trail (4 km long) is situated close to the Nordic Arena in Toblach/Dobbiaco.

First time in Ulricehamn / Ensimmäistä kertaa Ulricehamnissa

Swedish town Ulricehamn is hosting the World Cup for the first time. Ulricehamn is a small town with 25 000 inhabitants, located in West Sweden.

Known as a textile-rich area, Ulricehamn offers great shopping opportunities with its
unique shops and close by, in the town Gällstad, you can find bargains on designer
clothes at outlet prices. There are also rural entrepreneurs who sell their local produce in
different environments.

Venue Lassalyckan is a local sport centre with 20 different sports both winter and summer.

Länsi-ruotsalainen pikkukaupunki Ulricehamn isännöi ensimmäistä kertaa maailmancupin kilpailuja. Kaupunki on tunnettu tekstiiliteollisuudestaan ja alueella on suomalaistaustaisia asukkaita runsaasti.

Hiihtostadion sijaitsee Lassalyckanin urheilukeskuksessa, jossa on suorituspaikkoja 20:een erilaiseen lajiin kesällä ja talvella.

On Saturday there is individual distance competition with classic  (changed to) free style and on Sunday relays.
Lauantaina on perinteisen (muuttunut) vapaan tyylin normaalimatkan kilpailu ja sunnuntaina viestit.

Courses / Radat
Ladies are skiing 2x5 km and men 3x5 km. In ladies 5 km Course maximum climb (MC) is 31m ja total climb (TC) 147m  and in mens course MC 59m / TC 166m. In mens relay course MC is 55m and TC 125m.

Young norwegian Johannes Klaebo thinks relay course is too flat for him.

Naiset kiertävät 2 kertaa 5 km radan ja miehet 3 kertaa. Normimatkan maksiminousu (MC) miehillä 59m ja kokonaisnousu (TC) 166m, Naisilla MC on 31m ja TC 147m. Miesten viestissä MC on 55m ja TC 125m.

Norjan nuori "hiihtokomeetta" Johannes Klaebo totesi olevan turhaa matkustaa Ruotsiin 7,5 km tasaiselle radalle.

Dolomiittien sprinttiviikonloppu / Dolomites sprint weekend

Tour de Ski on jälleen hiihdetty ja vuorossa on jo seuraava maailmancupin kilpailuviikonvaihde. Kovin kauas ei Val di Fiemmestä tarvitse lähteä, sillä Toblach oli kilpailupaikkana myös Tourilla.
Kilpailut hiihdetään kuvankauniissa Etelä-Tirolin maisemissa ja Toblachia kutsutaan Dolomiittien portiksi, sillä kylä, Alta Pusteri, sijaitsee aivan niiden juurella.

Dolomiittien sprinttiviikonloppu hiihdetään vapaalla tyylillä ja samalla tyylillä hiihdetään myös henkilökohtainen kilpailu Lahden MM-kilpailuissa. Sprinttereillä on mahdollisuus kisata vielä Falunissa ja Otepäässä vapaalla ennen Lahtea.

Competitions near Dolomites will be skied with free style, which is used also in Lahti WSC 2017. Sprinters will have two possibilites to compete in same way in Falun and Otepää before Lahti.

Rata on melko korkealla 1210 metriä merenpinnan yläpuolella, mutta korkeuseroa radalla ei ole kuin reilut 10 metriä.

Village and arena is located quite high in 1210 meters, but the course does have only a. 10 m differece.

Maailmancupin kilpailut jatkuvat ensi viikonloppuna  Davosissa Sveitsissä. 13000 asukkaan Davos on alppien korkeimmalla sijaitseva kaupunki. Davos on Sveitsin maajoukkueen harjoittelukeskus ja Dario Colognan kotikaupunki. Alla olevan videon mukaan sää paikalla on usein aurinkoinen ja tunnelma hyvä.

Ohjelma / Program

Ohjelmassa on jälleen vapaan pidemmän matkan (15 km / 30 km) kilpailu väliaikalähdöllä, joka on ainut koko kalenterissa. Toinen pitkä kilpailu on tammikuussa Falunissa vapaalla tyylillä massalähtönä.
Sunnuntaina on vuorossa ensimmäistä kertaa vapaan tyylin sprinttikilpailut,Radat / Courses
Stadionille on uusittu lähtö ja maalialueen lumetusjärjestelmä, joka helpottaa järjestäjien työtä. Tykkilumilatu on avattu jo 29.10.2016.

Distanssimatkan rata 7,5 km

Sprintissä kierretään 1,5 km rataa, miehet kaksi kertaa. Suurin nousu on 12 m.
Distanssimatkan rata on 7362 m, joka kierretään 2 tai 4 kertaa.
Rata on profiililtaan nouseva 4 km:iin asti ja suurin nousu on 41 m kokonaisnousun ollessa 288 m.
